There were not many birds to be seen on Otmoor this afternoon, but several dragonflies were hawking over the bridleway leading towards the Wetland hide. They were showing no signs of settling, so I took some in-flight shots, hoping to determine the species, while expecting them to be Migrant Hawkers at this time of year.  This first shot is definitely a migrant hawker:


The second shot, with its prey, looked to me like a Southern Hawker, since there appear to be yellow ante-humeral stripes, but I'm advised it is another (male) Migrant Hawker..
