Hornet Mimic Hoverfly

Orchids at Hartslock Hill, Goring on Thames.

The True Lady Orchid. Unfortunately only the one.
The only Lady Orchid in Oxfordshire. You would have to
travel to Kent to see another one.
Nationally Scarce.

The True Monkey Orchid. Probably only half a dozen dotted
around the slopes - Again Nationally Scarce.

This is the Hybrid Lady/Monkey Orchid which has taken
over at Hartslock. Many on display.

BBOWT Hartslock, Goring on Thames 3rd April 2022

The Pasque wild flower in the meadow on the hillside at Hartslock. Now a very rare plant in the UK restricted to just a few limestone grasslands. Only just half a dozen here this year. Flowers at Easter.
