Otmoor Fallow Deer

Seen on 15th November 2019 at Otmoor with two does, a Fallow Buck with only one antler.

When flushed by low flying geese it appeared to be hobbling, perhaps injured in the Rut?

Willow Emerald Damselfly in Wytham Woods

Report of first county record just in from Steve Brooks via Adrian Parr:

On Tuesday 10 September 2019 at around 13:00 I saw at close quarters a male and female pair of willow emerald Chalcolestes viridis in tandem flying and settling amongst willows at a recently dry pond in the woods at Radbrook Common (part of the Wytham Woods complex about 3 miles NW of Oxford). Grid ref is SP460076.

Unfortunately no sign on 15 nor 21 September (Stephen Burch, David Hastings)

Note: a permit is needed for walking in these woods
