Trap Grounds Willow Emerald 8th September

Willow Emeralds are continuing their rapid colonisation of the county with a male found in the Trap Grounds yesterday by Nicola Devine. It was still present today and conveniently located rather low down on some overhanging Willow in front of the Swan Pond main viewing area.

National Mega & County First!

This unassuming micro moth turns out to a national mega rarity and a county first! Called Zelleria oleastrella,  it came to my Actinic light trap two nights running in my Oxford garden. Whilst they can migrate, they are  more usually imported with Olive Trees as the larvae mine the leaves.
